About Rohan

At the beginning of high school, I struggled a lot. I was an average to below average student for all my subjects and failed to find confidence in at least one subject. After deciding to pick up my game and apply my due diligence and persevere, I was able to dramatically change my academic outlook. I was able to score top five in mathematics exams for four years straight (achieving 1st and 2nd in grade along the way) after achieving C the year before, top 5 in my science exams (achieving 2nd in Prelim. Chemistry and Top 5 in HSC Physics) and other honourable results.

Like so, I believe all students have that academic tipping point waiting to happen and high school offers you that opportunity to figure out what study habits and techniques work best for you. As such, I would like to relay the tips and tricks I acquired from my time in high school and help you achieve this climatic point where you can meet your true potential.

About the lesson

I have over one year of experience in high school tutoring having taught through multiple companies and private tutoring. I have access to hundreds of resources including past papers, lesson material, homework sets and personally made notes for distribution.

I currently teach Year 7-10 Mathematics, Year 7 - 10 Science, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Physics (both Preliminary and HSC) and Preliminary Chemistry.

I am a true believer in keeping things simple stupid. Many times throughout high school you will be (and I am sure you already have been) taught complex concepts that you cannot seem to break down, albeit the number of times your teacher or friends had to reexplain it to you. I too had experienced those same roadblocks and having overcome them, I am able to assimiliate and transform those tricky concepts into easy, simple steps to follow.

I cater my teaching style towards your full understanding of the content even if it is beyond syllabus. I like to use the analogy that learning is like bricklaying as you cannot safely move on to the next layer without a solid foundation. I strive to make my lessons as engaging as possible to maximise retention by explaining certain concepts and formulas using a variety of analogies, acronyms and examples. My lessons are highly discussion-focused so that students are free to interfere me anytime during the lessons to ask me their questions or so I can spontaneously ask them questions to test and consolidate their understanding.

I offer 1 - 3 hour classes depending on year, student and parent preferences. This can be in-person or online.
