About Tess
I am a Violin tutor with more than 10 years of teaching experience and have successfully taught over 840 students. My passion is helping learners become confident musicians while developing technical excellence, artistic expression, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Throughout my career, I have worked with beginners, advanced performers, orchestra musicians, competition participants, examination candidates, and students pursuing personal musical goals. This experience enables me to adapt lessons effectively to different learning styles and ambitions.
I believe music education should inspire creativity while building discipline, perseverance, confidence, and self-expression. Through supportive mentoring and structured instruction, I help students overcome challenges and achieve meaningful progress.
Many learners have successfully prepared for examinations, recitals, competitions, orchestral opportunities, and advanced musical studies through my guidance. Their accomplishments continue to motivate my dedication to teaching excellence.

My Violin lessons are designed to help students develop technical precision, musical understanding, artistic expression, and performance confidence through a structured and progressive teaching approach. I teach posture, bow control, intonation, finger placement, tone production, rhythm development, sight reading, ear training, music theory, ensemble skills, and performance preparation.
Students begin by mastering proper posture, bowing techniques, listening skills, rhythmic accuracy, and intonation control. These essential foundations create the framework required for advanced violin performance and long-term musical growth.
As learners progress, lessons incorporate vibrato, shifting, advanced bowing techniques, expressive phrasing, musical interpretation, ensemble performance, recital preparation, and advanced repertoire studies. Technical exercises and repertoire are balanced carefully to support complete artistic development.
I encourage students to understand music as a form of communication and self-expression. Lessons focus on helping learners connect emotionally with music while maintaining strong technical standards and disciplined practice habits.
Regular performance opportunities, personalized practice plans, detailed feedback, and continuous assessments help students achieve consistent improvement while developing confidence, creativity, and musical maturity.
