I learned over time in the classroom that much of computer and programming learning is based on understanding concepts, how a structure works, how a program reacts to a command, and so on. So there are several ways to explain a concept to a student, and in a way I've learned over a year and a half and 12 classes with over 40 students each that each person understands in a way, and that every concept can be explained with success once you understand how the person learns.
