About Samantha
I am a college student that participates in the academic honor society.
I was offered a great opportunity to volunteer to teach small groups and one-on-one with students in the special needs classroom at the high school I attended. I would teach and aid students in the classroom during my study halls every weekday and if the opportunity presented itself, I would come multiple times a day. I learned a lot from the opportunity and made friends along the way.
I have experience working with student struggles such as comprehension, Autism, memory complications, Attention Deficit Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Anxiety. During my senior year of high school, I volunteered in a special needs classroom and taught English, Science as well as Sign Language. During my freshman and sophomore year of high school, I volunteered in a daycare that had children who suffered from disabilities and children who did not. I would spend six hours per week with the children. I left the daycare to start college at sixteen years old.

All students should be given the opportunity to meet their full potential. For some students, tutors become the key to their success. To start with a new student, I hope to get to know them and discuss course materials. Once the student, myself, and parents or legal guardians have established the information and plan moving forward I work with the student. I will work with the student not until they know the information, but until they feel confident in their knowledge to face the test, quiz, or course assignments.
