About River
I began playing the French horn six years ago and quickly developed a strong passion for music and performance. I would love to share that enjoyment with younger musicians and help them feel confident while learning an instrument that can sometimes seem challenging.
As a young musician, I understand the experience of learning new techniques, preparing for performances and progressing through music exams. I aim to be patient, encouraging and approachable so that students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I am also bilingual and can teach in either English or Mandarin.

I offer private French horn tuition for young musicians who are new to the instrument or developing their skills. My lessons focus on building confidence, correct technique, tone quality, music reading and a strong understanding of music theory. Each lesson is adapted to the student’s individual goals and learning pace, with an encouraging and enjoyable approach.
Lessons are typically 30 minutes, 45 minutes or 60 minutes long. I am currently studying AMEB Grade 7 French horn, have six years of playing experience, have completed music theory examinations and perform in my school’s top band as a music scholarship student. My goal is to help students develop strong musical foundations while discovering a genuine enjoyment of playing the French horn.
