About Leo

Hello, everyone! My name is Leo, and I'm a blend of Japanese and American heritage. I was born and raised in Japan, specifically in the Fukuoka region. During my time in Japan, I worked as a translator for companies and at various events. Additionally, I occasionally served as an interpreter, facilitating communication between foreign ambassadors and Japanese politicians. I recently moved to the United States and would love to share the Japanese language and culture with you. I hope we can connect, and I believe you'll benefit greatly from my lessons. Whether you're a beginner or have some prior knowledge, I'm here to help you on your journey to discover the beauty of the Japanese language and culture.

About the lesson

Introduction: Konnichiwa (こんにちは) and welcome to our Japanese language learning sessions! I'm excited to embark on this journey with you as your language tutor. Our lessons are tailored to help you build a solid foundation in Japanese and progress towards fluency using a textbook of your choice. Lesson Structure: Learning from Your Textbook (30 minutes): The core of our lessons will be dedicated to working through the textbook I prepared. We'll cover fundamental topics, including grammar, vocabulary, and conversation practice, during this time. Question and Discussion (15 minutes): In the remaining 15 minutes of each lesson, feel free to ask me any questions you have about the material we've covered or anything else related to Japanese language and culture. Additionally, I'll share interesting insights and cultural tidbits to enhance your understanding and appreciation of Japan. About Me: I bring a unique perspective to our lessons as I was born and spent my entire childhood in Japan. This means I have an intimate knowledge of Japanese culture, traditions, and customs. I'm eager to share my expertise with you, providing not just language instruction but also cultural insights that will enrich your learning experience. With this structured approach and my deep familiarity with Japan, I'm confident that we can make your journey to learn Japanese both engaging and rewarding. Let's get started on this exciting adventure together!

Jen just started learning Japanese. She enjoys acquiring a new language even though it can be challenging sometimes. Her motivation is very high, and I am excited to teach her every lesson! We've done five lessons so far, and I know she will become a wonderful Japanese speaker in the near future.
