About Angela

I help students develop strong piano foundations, confident technique and expressive playing in a supportive and structured learning environment.

With over 15 years of piano experience and 4+ years of teaching, I understand the common challenges students face - from building consistent practice habits to developing musical expression and performing with confidence.

My lessons are designed to make progress clear, achievable and enjoyable, whether students are:
• Preparing for AMEB Piano or Piano for Leisure examinations (including Video Repertoire Exams)
• Learning for personal enjoyment, including film, Disney, anime and popular music

I also offer:
• Piano accompaniment for AMEB practical examinations (Flute, Violin, Cello and other instruments)
• AMEB Music Theory (Grades 1–3) as either standalone lessons or alongside piano tuition

My teaching focuses on building strong technique, musical expression and confidence. I've helped students overcome technical challenges, improve exam performance and achieve excellent results, with many earning A-grade results for the first time.

Qualifications
• AMusA (Associate in Music, Australia) – Piano
• 15+ years of piano experience
• 4+ years of teaching and accompaniment experience
• Completed AMEB Piano Grades 6–8 with A or A+ results
• Completed HSC Music 2 and Music Extension and received HSC ENCORE nomination recognising outstanding performance in the NSW cohort
• Trained under experienced Australian and international piano teachers

About the lesson

I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals, interests and learning style, whether they are preparing for AMEB Piano or Piano for Leisure exams, or learning piano for personal enjoyment.

For exam students, I focus on core requirements, technique and musical expression, breaking concepts down into clear, simple steps to support steady progress from beginner to advanced levels. I draw on my own experience of preparing for and performing in AMEB Piano exams over many years to help students perform with confidence and accuracy.

Lessons are paced comfortably while still providing consistent challenge, helping students improve each week. I also encourage students to choose repertoire that reflects their personal musical interests.

Location: Student’s home (within 15 km of Burwood) or online
