About Helena
I'm an enthusiastic 18-year-old embarking on a gap year filled with adventure. Having recently conquered my GCSEs and A-levels, I understand the challenges of difficult subjects and large classes all too well. I've been on the receiving end of tutoring, and it played a crucial role in my academic success, leading to my acceptance to study medicine at UCL. That's why tutoring is so important to me and why I'm eager to give back to students who need that extra support outside of school, during my year out. For some more insight into me and my interests, I am an aspiring doctor, I love travel and adventure, I’m taking part in a teaching volunteer program in Sri Lanka and as a post French A-level student I plan to immerse myself in Paris next year to become a fluent speaker. However, before I embark on all of that, I can't wait to get to know you and help you achieve the grades you truly deserve.

I will be dedicated tutor with a relaxed and student-centered approach, tailoring my teaching to individual weaknesses and needs. Having recently completed my own A-levels, I understand the challenges students face and can offer specialized exam help. As a visual learner, I am eager to incorporate diagrams and visual memory tactics often overlooked in standard teaching. My lessons typically last an hour, but my flexible schedule accommodates your needs. With 3 A-levels (Biology, Chemistry and French: A and A* grades) and 10 GCSEs (all grade 9), I bring strong academic credentials. While I haven't officially tutored, I've mentored peers as a part of a school scheme and have volunteered in primary schools. I primarily assist with GCSE and A-level subjects, but I'm open to helping younger students, even in maths below GCSE level.
