About Dr Alonso Lira

I’m a medical doctor and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, trained at one of the top 50 universities in the world. That means I’ve been deep in the trenches—both in the lab and with real patients—exploring how the tiniest molecular battles inside the body affect real-world health. I’ve studied it, practiced it, and taught it.
On top of that, I’ve published in top-tier journals like Nature Microbiology, so when it comes to scientific writing, I don’t just teach it—I’ve lived it. I learned the ins and outs of writing high-impact papers the hard way, and now I get to make it easier for you.
During my academic and professional path, I’ve had the joy of tutoring med students, undergrads, and grad students. Helping someone “get it” for the first time? Details
The C$60/hour is the hourly rate for regular classes in the basic immunology course which is divided in 20 classes of one hour each on average. Syllabus and Study material will be provided.
If you need a specially-tailored immunology course about a specific topic or disease that would require me creating a new class and material, the hourly rate is C$75/hour.
The same rate applies if you need help acing a specific university-level course. The course syllabus needs to be provided beforehand. There is a minimum heads-up period of one week, so I can prepare the material and class.
If you need help writing a scientific paper or a Master/Ph.D. Thesis, the hourly rate is C$100/hour, since these are more labor-intensive and require me understanding your research, aims, goals and data. Science requires a lot of time and energy to be made simple.
Urgent analyses and thesis tutoring classes that have less than one week heads-up will be charged C$125/hour.
