About Karin
My name is Karin, and I am an architecture graduate with honors and a specialization in urbanism. I am also LEED-accredited. I offer creative, technically grounded, and supportive instruction for students at various stages of their architectural or design education. I have worked on large-scale urban and heritage projects, and I understand the balance between creativity and technical precision that design programs demand. My experience includes teaching software skills to students and supporting design communication through a variety of tools and platforms. Whether you are building a portfolio, learning a new program such as Rhino, Revit, or InDesign, or looking to improve your presentation and layout skills, I can help you build confidence and clarity in your work. My approach is adaptable and student-centered, focused on helping you develop your own design voice while strengthening your technical skills. Teaching Methodology:
I adapt each lesson to your needs, using a mix of visual explanations, hands-on exercises, and personalized feedback. I focus on helping you build both technical skills and design confidence.
A Typical Lesson:
We will begin with a quick check-in on your work, discuss what you need help with or questions, then focus on a core topic (ex Rhino modeling, Revit drafting, concept development). You will apply the technique with my support, and we will end with a brief recap or follow-up tasks.
What Sets Me Apart:
With experience working on large-scale urban and heritage projects, as well as teaching software to students, I bring real-world insight and a strong sense of mentorship. I know the pressures of design school and aim to make it more manageable and rewarding.
