About Ellie
I have 5 years experience of Fine Art lessons from a professional artist, 3 years life drawing experience, attained a high A* in Fine Art A-Level and GCSE, have sold multiple paintings for over £400 from gallery shows and on commission. My strength is portrait painting, however I also teach landscapes, buildings and perspectives as well as use of colour, medium and perspective.

Through my lessons, I aim to help students develop their skills by creating a deeper understanding of artistic mediums, tones and techniques. In my classes I will draw live examples; students may need their own materials to practice these during the lessons. I will begin by teaching students how to approach composition, colour and perspective, after which I believe it is essential to provide a specialised approach to the student’s strengths and individual interests. Once we have explored some techniques relating to drawing and composition, I will provide specialised lessons based on the student’s needs and skill level - whether this be help with creating an A-Level portfolio, learning how to draw portraits to a high standard, or even simply developing skills with oil paints, acrylics, charcoal, etc. These lessons will develop skills such as creating atmosphere and depth, using texture, or drawing realistically through an understanding of proportions, tone and perspective. As well as providing my own examples and helping students with their technique, I will provide individual case studies for students, giving examples of artists and their methods to create further visual aids. In my experience I have found artist studies to be essential to developing skills, and helpful for students to cultivate and express their individual style. Finally I will help students to fine-tune their techniques.
