About Ayla

As an architecture student at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, ranked the top architecture school in the UK and worldwide (QS World University Ranking), I offer tailored tutoring sessions to help aspiring architects confidently navigate the application process for top UK undergraduate programmes. My approach is personalised, focusing on the individual needs and strengths of each student. With my academic background and hands-on experience with design projects, I can guide students through every aspect of their applications, from portfolio creation to personal statement writing and interview preparation.

In addition to my studies, I am an Outreach Ambassador for The Bartlett, where I represent the university and have engaged with over a thousand 16-18-year-olds applying to Architecture across three years. Through this role, I deliver workshops, presentations, and provide valuable insight, helping students from various backgrounds bridge the knowledge gap and navigate the application process with confidence.

About the lesson

Teaching Methodology | My teaching style is friendly and informal, fostering a stress-free and supportive mentorship where students feel comfortable exploring the architecture application process. I aim to demystify the architecture application process, breaking down the steps and requirements to make it as clear and manageable as possible. Each lesson is structured to help students refine their application material, understand the architecture admissions process, and strengthen their ability to articulate their ideas clearly and confidently. I use a variety of methods, including:

● Portfolio review and constructive feedback
● Mock interviews and personal statement guidance
● Signposting relevant readings, references and activity tasks based on student interests for personal statement and portfolio
