About Sofia
Sometimes I find that the most difficult part of playing guitar is simply maintaining the momentum between our scheduled times together. My lessons revolve around clear communication, whether we are working through grade exam prep or complex technical exercises. I utilize my 13 years of experience to ensure every student feels supported during our time.
You will receive a practice module with every lesson to keep your progress steady and consistent. These modules are designed to bridge the gap between our sessions, ensuring you never feel lost when you are alone with your guitar. Completing a Diploma of Music from JMC Academy marked the beginning of my formal musical path. I have spent 13 years immersed in the Australian Latin music scene, performing alongside dedicated musicians who value tradition and heart. My teaching practice serves adults, returning learners, and self-taught players who crave technical structure in their practice. I often find that my students are teens or advanced players looking to refine their acoustic or electric technique beyond the basics.
Understanding the complexities of songwriting and the maintenance of instruments is central to my own craft. I emphasize the importance of reading tabs and mastering diverse strumming patterns for a well-rounded foundation. Many of my students are part of the Latin diaspora seeking a mentor who understands their cultural roots. I balance this professional rigor with the warmth of a family friend who visits your living room.
