About Deepak

#Learn Guitar & Ukulele with Patience & Practice

Hi, I’m Deepak (Dittu), a professional Guitar & Ukulele Teacher and the founder of The Strings Theory.

I’ve been teaching music for over 10 years, helping beginners, students, working professionals, and international students learn guitar and ukulele in a simple, practical, and enjoyable way.

My approach to teaching is based on two simple P’s — Patience & Practice.

I strongly believe that you don’t need to be naturally talented or have any previous musical experience to learn an instrument. If you have the patience to understand the basics and the willingness to practise regularly, you can learn guitar or ukulele much faster than you might think.

I always try to make my lessons easy to understand and enjoyable. I aim to help you understand what you are playing rather than simply memorising chords and exercises.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from experienced musicians and educators, including Sanjeev Thomas and Abhishek Mittal.

My qualifications and achievements include:

Rockschool Highest Achiever Award – East Zone
Online Teaching Certification – Trinity College London
Best Teacher Award – Dhunguru, 2021

I’m also a performing musician and have experience performing live with my rock band.

My Goal as a Teacher

My goal is not just to teach you how to play an instrument. I want you to reach a point where you can pick up your guitar or ukulele and confidently make music on your own.

Remember the 2 P’s — Patience & Practice.

Give yourself time, practise consistently, and enjoy the journey. With the right guidance and regular practice, you’ll be surprised by how much you can learn.

About the lesson

About the Class

My classes are designed for beginners and intermediates with Guitar or Ukulele.

Every class is structured according to your current level, learning pace, and personal goals. Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, improve your technique, accompany yourself while singing, understand music theory, or prepare for a Rockschool or Trinity grade exam, the lessons will be planned accordingly.

I believe that learning an instrument should be simple, practical, and enjoyable. We focus on understanding the basics properly and then gradually build your skills through regular practice and playing real music.

What We’ll Cover

Depending on your level and goals, our lessons can include:

* Correct posture and how to hold the instrument
* Basic techniques and exercises
* Chords and chord transitions
* Strumming patterns and rhythm
* Scales and basic music theory
* Playing songs from the very beginning
* Guitar riffs and melodies
* Finger exercises and coordination
* Timing, metronome and rhythm practice
* Understanding the fretboard
* Playing and singing together
* Basic improvisation
* Developing confidence to play independently

The lessons are structured step by step, so you always know what you’re learning, why you’re learning it, and how to practise it.

Rockschool & Trinity Grade Exams

I also cover and conduct Rockschool and Trinity Grade examinations for Guitar and help students prepare systematically for their exams.

Whether you are preparing for your first grade or looking to progress to a higher level, we can work on the required pieces, techniques, scales, theory, and overall exam preparation.

️ Class Structure

A typical class combines technique, theory, practice, and playing. We’ll spend time working on the areas that need improvement while also making sure you get to play music and see your progress.

You don’t need to worry about being a complete beginner. We start from wherever you are and move forward step by step.

Most Importantly…

You don’t have to be perfect before you start.

All you need are the 2 P’s — Patience & Practice.

I’ll take care of the guidance and structure; your job is simply to stay consistent and enjoy the process. With regular practice, you’ll gradually become more comfortable and confident with your instrument.

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I picked up guitar way back in my high school when I was in NCC and in those days to get selected for Republic Day parade you got to have some music knowledge. But lazy me didn't get selected and slowly I lost interest and then went to engineering and realised I was in a wrong profession. From there on, I picked up my instrument and started learning (still learning). Personally, it's a stress buster. It helped me get out of my very hard days.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
My Dad & my ex, yes you may be surprised with the 2nd person. My Dad taught me the instrument and my ex pushed me to go to that stage and love what i really do and after the break up it really pushed me to take my dream to reality.
How does your work help society?
As a guy from a middle class family, I know what it takes us and parents to fulfil our dreams. Seeing that we have started an initiative that whoever is willing to learn music and take it seriously we would be helping them out without any cost, from buying an instrument to teaching them for free, its on us.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My role model is none other than Mr. Sanjeev Thomas (those who don't know, Google him). I followed him for 2 years. I just love the stage presence of him, how he just kills those 6 strings and how he is helping others in music and now I have the privilege to be a student of his makes one of my dreams come true.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
Nothing, just a lazy guy who just cooks (or experiments with food) in my free time and makes some posters to promote my Music School.
