About Phyllis
Singing represents a way to connect with others because it feels like speaking but with more emotional weight behind the notes. I keep this perspective while working with the 233 students who have come to my studio seeking help with pitch control and vibrato. It is quite interesting how people struggle with the distinction between head and chest voice before we start working together.
Developing performance confidence takes time, which is why I focus on consistent warm-up exercises and microphone technique. Intermediate learners often require specific guidance on harmony singing to move toward their goals.
Helping grade exam candidates succeed is a regular part of my week. I find that genre styling across pop and classical music keeps the process fresh. It is rewarding to see someone finally gain control over their breath support. There is just something special about watching a voice bloom during our time together.

Walking into your first session involves a quick chat about your vocal history and what you want to achieve. You will start by discovering how your instrument works during our dedicated warm up routines.
I share these recorded exercises so you can practice them at home every single day. My Bachelor of Music degree informs how I approach complex areas like sight singing and exam preparation.
