About Marcus

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a specialization in guitar and have spent over eight years helping students discover their voice through the instrument. My teaching spans ages and levels, from young beginners to adults rekindling their passion for music. As both a performer and teacher, I’ve played in bands, composed original music, and collaborated across genres. My diverse background allows me to connect with students pursuing various styles, whether they aim to master acoustic fingerpicking, electric soloing, or writing their own songs from scratch. I stay engaged with ongoing musical education, attending workshops and expanding my own repertoire regularly. I believe in teaching not just how to play notes, but how to express and enjoy music deeply. Every student brings a different story—and I help shape it through sound.

About the lesson

Lessons begin with a solid foundation in guitar fundamentals, including correct posture, finger placement, chord shapes, and simple strumming patterns. Whether using acoustic or electric guitar, beginners receive guidance tailored to their pace and musical preferences, fostering comfort and fluency on the fretboard from day one.

As students develop, lessons expand into rhythm training, barre chords, and music theory basics such as scales and progressions. Students learn to read tablature and chord charts while applying their skills through songs in genres like rock, blues, folk, or pop. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation and ear-based learning.

Advanced sessions focus on technique refinement, solo development, alternate tunings, and songwriting support. We work on performance readiness, stylistic nuance, and exploring the guitar’s role in ensemble settings. Each lesson is shaped by your musical goals, ensuring progress with depth, expression, and enjoyment.
