About Alex
I’m a graduate of The Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL) and currently working as a lighting designer at Nulty. I’ve recently relocated to Singapore and am excited to share my experience of studying and practicing art and design in the UK to help aspiring young artists here develop strong, expressive portfolios and reach their creative and academic goals. My background blends technical precision with creative exploration, and art has always been at the heart of my work. I’m passionate about guiding students—whether they’re preparing for GCSE, A-Level, or aiming for university-level study—through the process of building portfolios that are not only technically accomplished but also deeply personal and conceptually rich. I work closely with each student to understand their interests, learning styles, and long-term ambitions. My sessions are tailored to inspire confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking—key qualities for anyone developing their artistic voice. I aim to create a space where students can explore freely while being gently challenged to grow. Having gone through the UK art and architecture education system myself, I offer practical, insider guidance on what top universities look for in a portfolio. Every student I’ve worked with has left with a clearer creative direction, a more cohesive body of work, and renewed excitement for their art journey. I'm especially enthusiastic about supporting Singaporean students in preparing standout applications for art and design schools in the UK and beyond.

Hello! I support students applying to study Architecture and related design subjects at university. I help with personal statements, portfolio editing, and interview prep, as well as EPQs, essays, and software skills like AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop and InDesign. I also support undergraduate students with design development and portfolio presentation. Alongside this, I teach GCSE Art and help students improve their general drawing, creativity, and exam technique. I help them organize their sketchbook and give advice on what to include/remove. I also work with younger children, introducing them to drawing, painting, and creative projects in a fun and encouraging way. I'm passionate about art and architecture education, and I really enjoy helping students at all stages grow in confidence and skill.
