About Alan
I trained at Glasgow School of Art, Scotland. Been teaching and mentoring for 25 years. I have worked as an Illustrator, Fine Artist, Scenic and Muralist Art as well as teaching in over 5 Colleges in UK. Now mentoring in Brisbane for 13 years with students all ages from 25 upwards. All welcome.

I've never been interested in getting students to copy what I do. I push them to create and develop their own style no matter what area they are working in. I can do demos and show new ways of approaching a subject. Some come to just learn, others to go on and exhibit, tips given. I do 3-hour sessions at a time; Mon-Thurs am 9.30 -12.30, one on one or in a group. Flexible.

In 2011 I began attending art mentoring workshops with Alan Morrison. Immediately I noticed that Alan had a real enthusiasm for tailoring his mentoring and teaching to each students' personal artistic goals. His depth of experience is amazing, and yet he conveys this in a modest way and is not prescriptive in his teaching style. Alan provides honest appraisals of my work and encourages me to try new and different approaches, without me feeling overwhelmed or unsupported. My week would feel incomplete without Alan Morrison's art mentoring.
