About Andy

Hey! I'm Andy, a current student at Monash University studying Advanced Computer Science. I graduated in 2023 with a 99.60 ATAR, achieving 40+ raw scores in English and Math.

I feel truly passionate about teaching, and nothing gives me more satisfaction than hearing that my student reached a goal they previously thought was out of reach. I have 4 years of teaching experience over a variety of subjects including Math Methods, Specialist Math, English, Chinese, Japanese, and Piano.

Rest assured, if you're looking for tutoring, this is the place to be. I have experience with students of all skill levels and all ages, with my lessons being tailored and adapted to suit any student.

A little bit about me: some of my hobbies include reading, learning languages, and playing the piano, and I also love traveling! I take any chance I get to explore new places and experience the world.

About the lesson

My math lessons are formulated with the student in mind. Students are encouraged to set their own goals, and as a result, the lesson is tailored to their needs. If a student is unsure of what they want to go for, I help them learn more through a cycle of establishing understanding, reinforcing that understanding, and then applying knowledge.
Of course, my techniques are never static and change depending on the student's preferences - what is working and what isn't, which slowly models my lessons over the span of weeks to fully cater to the student.
The typical length of a lesson is 1 hour, however, lessons can go for up to 2 hours if requested. I have 4 years of tutoring experience spanning not just math (Specialist, Methods, Pre-VCE), but also English (VCE and Pre-VCE), Chemistry (Pre-VCE), Chinese (VCE and Pre-VCE), and Piano. In addition, I have tutored students of all skill levels, and a variety of ages (for piano). No matter where you are, I will be glad to help you in your journey upward.
