About Doug
I was a French Horn player with The Royal Marines Band Service for over 34 years and have played all over the world at many renowned events including the London Olympics and was principle horn for ITV's BAFTA winning live broadcast of the late Queen Elizabeth II's 90th Birthday celebrations.
I have also preformed alongside many artists including Andrea Bocelli, Alfie Boe, Kylie Minogue, Gary Barlow, Shirley Bassey, Catherine Jenkins, Joss Stone and Ant and Dec.
My playing and teaching qualifications are, ARCM playing diploma, a BMus (hons) degree from Portsmouth University, an MA in music performance from Salford University and a Certificate of Teaching from the ABRSM.
I have a current DBS certificate.

I am centrally based in the Vale of Glamorgan with over 30 years playing and teaching experience.
From total beginners to advanced level.
Age from +12 onwards.
I teach online and in person lessons at my home.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are £35.
I aim for each student to be able to achieve their full potential. I can deal with any type of technical problem including the mental aspects of horn playing.
The most important thing is for your playing and lessons to be fun and you wanting to practise!
