About Darby
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Audio Engineering at JMC in Brisbane and have recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce from UQ. I have been playing guitar for seven years and offer lessons for beginners who want to learn about basic music theory and who one day hope to master the guitar. In the past I have tutored students in guitar and reading.

I assume no prior knowledge of musical theory and aim to lay a solid foundation to build upon. While teaching theory such as note identification, foundations of pitch/ rhythm and basic scales/ techniques on guitar, I also aim to teach songs as this is the best way to hone the skills taught in theory.

Darby was a very knowledgeable and patient tutor, can highly recommend him!
Darby tutored me while I was studying economics in my high school years. He was so personable and I felt really comfortable asking him easy or tough questions. Economics was a subject I didn't love but I can honestly say Darby is the reason I got through it and actually ended up doing really well! He tailored the sessions to what I was struggling with and provided help on assignments as well. Can highly recommend!
