About Jan M
My name is Jan Carmody. I spent more than 35 years living and working in Indonesia, mainly in Bali, running my own garment and small business operations.
During that time I worked closely with Indonesian staff, suppliers, families, and communities. Indonesian language and culture became part of everyday life for me, not something learned only from textbooks.
Living there long-term gave me a deep understanding of how people actually live — from village life and markets to ceremonies, family traditions, and the working world.
I have managed teams, trained staff, worked with international customers, and navigated daily life using Indonesian language.
I have Indonesian family and we speak Indonesian at home. I would love to help you learn Indonesian too.
