About Rebecca

I am an award-winning actress. Who brings to the table the experience of working both on stage & screen. I did the CERTHE in Theatre Arts (Acting) then the BA (hons) Acting - both at East 15 Acting School. I started acting when I was young; I trained at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, where I also then used to voluntarily assistant direct a group of young actors called ‘The Juniors.’ Additionally, I have also directed musicals & plays in schools and helped set up drama clubs. As well as tutoring people one to one for acting lessons, in addition to drama school audition preparation work, or audition/self-tape preparation. I have worked with a wide range of ages. In terms of people auditioning for drama school - I used to sit in on the auditions at East 15 Acting School, so I have such an incredible understanding of what it is drama schools look for. From the way you walk into the room, to the speeches themselves, to the way you answer questions & accept redirection. I can help prepare you for all of the above. Whilst making sure it is a fun, active experience. Breaking down speeches in an active journey, that requires you to get up on your feet!

About the lesson

“Get up on your feet!” Discoveries are found through a series of carefully picked exercises from a range of practitioners to help unravel a speech or scene. Whether it is Screen or Theatre! Some work is required with paper and pen of course - but the quicker you can “get it up on your feet” the better. Self-reflection is a huge part of my methodology, to be able to pinpoint what you just learnt, to be able to look at your own work with a constructive critical eye. As you cannot become reliant on just directors' feedback as in reality sometimes they don’t always give it to you all the time, so you’ve got to learn how to give it to yourself & to trust yourself as a performer. Combatting any blocks that stop you from trusting your own work, we have to get you “out of your head” and in the present moment of the scene. So if you’d like some general acting lessons, where we can look through different techniques and practitioners, we can do that! Or if you’d like drama school audition prep or stage school audition - we can do that! Or if you simply want your confidence building through acting - we sure can do that too! I look forward to meeting you :)

From small, seemingly insignificant movements and gestures, to voice tonality, to getting into the right headspace when dealing with intense scenes, and being able to respond to direction quickly and effectively, she really is a knowledge bank of information!
