About Mitchell
My name is Mitch, and I'm currently living on the Gold Coast with my wife Laura, cat Clementine and dog Jean.
I'm a GCCC-certified Communications Management Professional, currently working remotely as a senior communications consultant for a major client in the live sports and entertainment sector in Victoria.
I'm also a creative writer, editor and poet, having published poetry, essays and short fiction in most major Australian literary journals, including Antipodes, Arena, Cordite, Meanjin, Overland, Rabbit, Short Fiction Journal, Southerly and Text.
In 2015 I was awarded the Overland Fair Australia Prize for Poetry, and was the recipient of an Australia Council ArtStart Grant. In 2022 my unpublished manuscript 'Dialogue with Holes' was shortlisted for Arts Queensland Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize.
This year I also served as a board member and company secretary for the International Association of Business Communicators (Vic), and have mentored a number of young professionals in communications, PR and marketing roles.

I'm a highly experienced creative and professional writer with qualifications in English, Political Science, Writing and Communications.
Lessons are fully customised to help you set and achieve your goals.
If you're a high school English student, or a university student studying classics or modern literature, bring your chosen/set text and/or assignment, and we'll get to the bottom of it together.
If you'd like to improve your writing (whether it be creative or critical), we'll work together to analyse your capability gaps, and develop a learning plan to polish your writing practice and realise your potential.
All engagement kick off with a one-hour session to understand your needs, set goals, and gather the information required to develop a proposed approach.
