About Bally
I’m Bally Gill, I was born and raised in Coventry. I attended Birmingham Theatre School in 2011 before graduating from Rose Bruford College, with a BA Hons in Acting in 2015.
Since then, I have worked across stage and screen, both in the Midlands and across the UK, and more recently in America. I spent several years working at the Royal Shakespeare Company in a variety of productions, most notably performing as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, at the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon, the Barbican and on a UK-wide tour, for which I won the Ian Charleson Award in 2018. Since then, I have worked primarily in TV and film, and my screen credits include Slow Horses (Apple TV+), Sherwood (BBC), This is Going to Hurt (BBC). Earlier this year, I lead a film called Allelujah which starred the likes of Jennifer Saunders, Dame Judi Dench, Russell Tovey and Sir Derek Jacobi. My performance in the film resulted in me being longlisted for the 2022 BIFA award for Breakthrough Performance, and more recently in the Outstanding Performance category at the 2023 National Film Awards, which is putting me in the same breath as some real heavyweights, such as Keanu Reeves, Cynthia Erivo and Hugh Grant. I was also featured as one of the rising stars of 2023 for the Evening Standard.

With me it's a case by case approach. It's really about what is your goal/aim is from the sessions. Whether you're trying to get into Drama School, preparing for an audition for Screen or Theatre, needing helping with your A-level Drama & Performance work or more advanced degree level. We can tailor the sessions to your needs.
I have extensive knowledge of practitioners such as Stanislavski, Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, Stanford Meisner. But also if you work more physically I do have experience of techniques from Lecoq, animal studies and psychological gesturing. In terms of Shakespeare, I spent three years at the Royal Shakespeare Company, winning the Ian Charleson award for my portrayal of Romeo in their 2018's version of Romeo and Juliet. I consider it one of my strengths. I’ve appeared in series for the BBC, ITV, Disney, Sky - to name few but I recently lead a film called Allelujah which starred the likes of Jennifer Saunders, Dame Judi Dench, Russell Tovey and Sir Derek Jacobi. I have disciplines of both screen and theatre to help you with any of your requirements.
I have an A-level in Drama & Performance and a BA (Hons) in Acting from Rose Bruford. I have coached for the Royal Shakespeare Company providing workshops for people all ages. And currently teach for several companies around the Midlands area. I currently mentor students at drama schools such as Arts Ed, The Brit School and Rose Bruford. And I have coached some of my ex students into places at Bristol Old Vic, RADA, Central and LAMDA.
The length of the session would typically be for a hour. Depending on whether you think you want more time on a session, these are all conversations we can have.
