About Lara
I am a first year BMus(hon) student at UQ, qualified to through AMEB examination to teach beginner to intermediate/advanced classical singing, and beginner/intermediate musical theory, tuned percussion, and piano. I myself have been singing in choirs from as young as 7, and am now pursuing classical voice as a potential future pathway. I have also learnt piano, orchestral percussion, guitar, trumpet, and have a background in drama. I'm passionate about music being learnt from a young age, and love working with kids. Music has gifted me many performance and travel opportunities, and is a gift for life that I would like to enable others with.

I don't have a history of formally teaching music to students, however, was approachable and knowledgeable through my secondary education, and within my music ensembles. I was often relied on for informal tutoring and advice, and was always keen to share knowledge. My methodology would consist of going in with a basic lesson planned, and adjusting future content based on the preexisting skill levels and understanding of the student. Each lesson would be planned in advance, and the structure would largely be 'I show', 'we try', 'you try', to ensure content is taught sufficiently, practiced with room for mistakes, and solidified through independent trial and error.
