About Hayleigh

I'm a trained Pastry Chef. I have traveled the world and from that I have developed fond memories of all food and the love it brings. I have always taught friends and family basic recipes and have taught private and group cooking lessons which are always personal to what everyone would like to learn. Asian, Italian and homestyle BBQ are my favorite styles to teach. Currently, I specialize in cooking with special needs children. Cooking and baking is a highly sensory experience which is a great way that children feel connected with what they are making.

About the lesson

My classes are relaxed, however structured. The recipes and methods are never secret and I enjoy full class participation. Eating is just as important as cooking. It's the best way to learn and discover what you like. I enjoy making my classes as relaxed as if you were in your own home with friends. If not, the food never tastes as good as it should. You will walk away with full recipes and a real knowledge and confidence of what we created.

Hayleigh is a beautiful soul who invited me over to her house to show me how to make my fiancé’s favourite caramel slice to surprise him with when he returned home from a 6 month navy deployment in the Middle East. Not only did she take the time to show me step by step how to make each part or the slice she also insisted on paying for all the ingredients herself as well as cooking me a delicious hearty home cooked meal ‘filled with garlic and ginger because I couldn’t afford to get sick on the week leading up to Graeme returning home’. Hayleigh always puts everyone one else first and has the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met.

The free lesson is based on a family favourite of my choice. All future lesson costings are tailored to what we are making, how many people are involved and how long you wish to bake for. I try and make it as reasonable as possible. Cooking should be for everyone.
