Being a student is hard enough already.
There is so much expected of you — exams, homework, friendships, family life, choosing what you want to do in the future — and it all happens at a time when you’re still figuring yourself out. When you’re already carrying so much, having a subject that feels confusing or overwhelming can feel like one more thing on your plate.
I want to help make that a little easier.
I’ve been a teacher for 10 years, and for many of those years I was also a form tutor. That meant that my role wasn’t just about teaching lessons. Students would come to me when they were stressed, struggling, upset or simply needed someone to listen. I really valued being someone they felt comfortable talking to.
That’s something I want to bring into tutoring too.
I want my students to feel that they don’t have to be embarrassed about what they don’t know. You can come to me feeling completely lost, and we’ll start from there — no judgement and no pressure.
If I can make science feel a little simpler, take some of the stress off your shoulders and help you walk away feeling more confident than when you started, then I’ve done what I set out to do.

Science doesn’t have to feel confusing!
I’m a UK science teacher with 10 years of classroom teaching experience, specialising in students aged 11–16.
I teach GCSE Science across Foundation, Higher, Combined Science and Triple Science, with particular experience teaching the AQA GCSE 9–1 specification.
My teaching style is friendly, clear and, most importantly, easy to understand. I don’t believe in using complicated language to explain something that can be explained simply. I break topics down into manageable steps, use everyday examples and help you understand why things work — rather than just expecting you to memorise pages of information.
And I get it! I found science difficult myself when I was a student, particularly because of all the unfamiliar terminology. That experience has shaped the way I teach. I know how frustrating it can feel when everyone else seems to understand something and you’re thinking, “What does any of this actually mean?”
Whether you’re aiming for a top grade, trying to move up a few grades, struggling with a particular topic, or simply want to feel more confident going into your exams, I’ll meet you where you are and work from there.
I build a really good rapport with my students and aim to create a space where you can ask anything without feeling embarrassed or judged. There’s no such thing as a silly question — if you don’t understand something, we’ll find a different way of explaining it until it clicks.
I also genuinely believe that every grade matters. You don’t have to be planning to become a scientist or study science beyond GCSE for your progress to be important. My aim is to help every student feel more capable, confident and proud of what they can achieve.
Science might not be your favourite subject — and that’s okay! Let’s just make it make sense.
