About Dufferz

I’m a trained clown from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse Clown Camp program. I’ve performed with the Shrine Circus and the Royal Hanneford Circus, and over the years I’ve worked in hospitals, nursing homes, stage shows, private parties, picnics, festivals, and community events.

I offer one‑on‑one guidance for people who want to discover their own clown rather than copy someone else’s. I bring historical references, performance concepts, and practical feedback, but the focus is helping you find what fits your personality and expression. I don’t shape your clown; I help you uncover it.

About the lesson

Clowning isn't about red noses, floppy shoes, or cartoon stereotypes. Clowning is a verb. It's discovering the clown that already lives in you — your inner child, the part that loves striped socks and pigtails, the part that knows how to have fun without asking permission. It's how you move through the world, how you see the absurd, and how you express your unique rhythm.

From there, we'll dive into character discovery and development, along with building skills in movement, physical comedy, juggling, mime, balloon sculpting, and stage presence. You could learn the mechanics of these skills anywhere. What makes this different is the extra mile: I'll share the resources, the shortcuts, and the real-world insights I've gathered from circus stages to hospital rooms. This isn't just about learning tricks; it's about building a toolkit you can actually use.

Along the way, we'll also explore opportunities to get your feet wet in the real world — small performances, community events, or stepping into space where your clown can actually meet people.
