About Kana

Hello! I'm a native Japanese speaker, born and raised in Japan, now living in Canada. As a teacher, my goal is not only to help you learn Japanese but also to share Japanese culture and real-life experiences of Japan, while creating a supportive and motivating learning environment. I always take care to support each student personally and thoughtfully.

・Continuing to learn English and French, which helps me understand both the joys and challenges of language study.

・Worked in event planning and administrative roles at a city hall in Japan, and at a local company in Canada.

・Volunteered at a tourist information center for international visitors in Japan.

・Participated in Japanese cultural events in Canada to introduce Japanese traditions, such as origami.

・Enjoys traveling, riding various types of transportation, and planning travel itineraries.

・Passionate about making traditional Japanese fermented seasonings like miso, the foundation of Japanese cuisine, and sharing the process with others.

About the lesson

My lessons are friendly, interactive, and especially welcoming for beginners. Here’s what you can expect:

・Use of the "Genki" textbook alongside fun and easy-to-understand original materials with lots of illustrations and photos.

・A focus on practical conversation and systematic grammar instruction.

・Lessons conducted mainly in Japanese, with support in English or French when needed.

・A calm and encouraging atmosphere, tailored to each student's pace and personality.

・Introduction of Japanese culture and everyday topics, so you can naturally learn how the language is used in real life.

■Lesson structure example (50 minutes):
15 min – Review & Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji practice
30 min – Grammar + Speaking
5 min – Summary

Jérémi became more motivated to learn Japanese after his trip to Japan. During the trial lesson, he actively used the Japanese he already knows, which clearly shows his strong motivation and positive attitude toward learning.
