About An-Thien
Hi everyone! My name is An-Thien Pham, and I’m a 20-year-old third-year student at Flinders University, who also balances my studies with my love for music.
After recently completing my AMEB Grade 8 exam in October 2024 with Honors, I’m excited to begin teaching piano, particularly to beginners. Whether students are learning purely for leisure or working toward AMEB exams, I’m eager to help them build a strong foundation in piano.
I have gone through the AMEB exam process starting from Preliminary level and have officially completed AMEB Grade 3, 4, 5 and 8 exams. I have been playing piano for 10 years, have studied Stage 1 Music Studies, Stage 2 Music Performance (Solo & Ensemble) throughout high school, obtaining A’s in both subjects. I am a classically trained pianist, primarily focusing on classical music however, I am happy to teach other genres of music as well.

This is my first teaching experience, but I’ve worked hard to prepare myself for it. I can teach children/teenagers/adult beginners, early intermediates and casual learners, as well as help students prepare for AMEB exams from Preliminary to Grade 4.
My first lesson is free (30minutes), and lessons are 30 minutes or 1 hour. I teach at home but can travel to students depending on the distance, and additional travel fees may apply. My teaching approach will cater the student always including warmups, techniques, practicing repertoire, theory work and ensuring steady progress and engaging lessons.
I've had a couple piano teachers with Shawn Hui being the most recent. He is currently studying at the Elder Conservatorium and completing his Master's research degree. His profound knowledge fuels my passion to share that same knowledge with my own students.

Perfect! Teacher An is an amazing piano teacher. My daughter looks forward to her Saturday lessons every week. It was her first time learning piano at just five years old, but Teacher An made her feel comfortable and excited to learn from day one. She is patient, encouraging, and wonderful with children. I highly recommend An-Thien to any parent in Adelaide looking for a great piano teacher for their child.
