About Monica
Hi, I’m Monica. By profession, I work in e-commerce, but outside of work, guitar has been a big part of my life for the past few years.
I’ve been consistently learning and practicing acoustic guitar through structured lessons, and over time I’ve explored everything from basic chords to more intermediate techniques. I’ve also learned from different teachers along the way, which has helped me understand what actually works (and what feels confusing) when you’re starting out.
What I’ve realized is that most beginners don’t struggle because guitar is “hard”, they struggle because it’s often taught too fast or without enough clarity. That’s something I’m very mindful of when I teach.
I enjoy working especially with beginners and kids, because I’m naturally patient and I like breaking things down into simple, manageable steps. I don’t rush the process. The focus is on helping students feel comfortable, understand what they’re doing, and slowly build confidence.
I also enjoy singing and learning vocals alongside guitar, so my classes are usually more song-oriented rather than just technical.
For me, teaching is not about being perfect or advanced. It’s about helping someone go from “I don’t know anything” to “I can actually play something”, and enjoying that journey.

I focus on teaching acoustic guitar in a simple, beginner-friendly and patient way, especially for students who are starting from zero. My approach is to break things down step by step so that students don’t feel overwhelmed and can enjoy the process of learning.
In my classes, I start with the basics like how to hold the guitar, understanding strings and tuning, and then gradually introduce easy chords and simple strumming patterns. I focus a lot on helping students switch chords smoothly and develop rhythm through practice.
A typical class is structured in a calm and supportive way. We revise what was learned in the previous session, learn one or two new concepts, and then apply it through a simple song. I also share small practice notes after class so students know exactly what to work on.
My goal as a teacher is not just to teach chords, but to help students feel confident playing the guitar at their own pace. I keep the environment pressure-free, especially for kids, so they can learn comfortably and stay motivated.
