About Jacqui
I went to Japan on the JET programme in 2000 after graduating from my degree in linguistics. I loved Japan so much that I stayed for 9 years - working in different educational settings. I was fascinated by languages but didn’t think I’d ever be able to speak a foreign language fluently. But I became fluent in Japanese and took JLPT 2 and 1. When I left Japan, I got a job at a college teaching GCSE Japanese and earned my PGCE. Working 1:1 is where I love teaching Japanese the most so I can meet each learner’s needs. From January 2026, I’m starting a master's degree in Digital Education so I will keep learning and improving how I teach - especially for people with different brain wiring. Besides teaching, I’m also trained in hypnotherapy and energy healing and that helps me to work intuitively with my Japanese learners and build their confidence.
