About Vernique
I Studied at the University of the Freestate to become an Architect. But after I found myself in a small town I needed to start teaching. After a year I found a sense of purpose in teaching as I've never experienced before.
I found myself reflecting on my own school experience. How I altered many of my dreams because of teachers, learning material, and personal life situations.
I understood more than most I need to be different. I have a responsibility to ignite a flame.
I still draft part-time. But my full-time passion and responsibility lie with teaching. Currently, I am studying Psychology to improve the way I think and teach. And in the process, I hope to become a teacher that builds a good foundation in which, my students, can dream, build and reach for the stars.

If a student wants to pass any subject they need to know something about themselves. I always start my classes by analyzing if a student is a right-brain or left-brain. Then we need to identify if the students struggle with understanding a concept or the application of knowledge. And only after all that we can actually start with the learning material.
I am able to teach in English and Afrikaans. I have a better susceptibility with grades 7-12 but I have taught grades 2-6 as well.
