My teaching method would be to first assess the learners existing level of comprehension and ability in the language, their strengths and weaknesses in the language and establish what they feel most comfortable with as well as focus on what they are more unsure about. I would write up a lesson plan for each session e.g. One day we'd focus on listening and comprehension, another day writing and grammar, another day reading, and of course oral expression as well. I would then ask the student if there is a particular topic which they would like to focus on or go over to consolidate and then tailor my lesson plan around that.
