About Wenqian
Hi! I'm Wenqian, a bilingual Chinese tutor from Chengdu, China.
As a native Chinese speaker, I also speak English (B2), Spanish (A2), and Japanese (A1) — which means I understand what it feels like to get stuck between "knowing" a word and actually being able to use it.
Outside of teaching, I'm a backpacker and really enjoy connecting with people from different cultures. I'm also a huge sports lover!
I've been teaching Chinese online since June 2024 and have helped students from over 25 countries achieve their Chinese learning goals.
My students often describe me as engaging, adaptable, approachable, and goal-focused — you’ll feel relaxed, supported, and motivated to keep going.

Here's what actually happens in my classes:
A personalized learning plan based on your goals
A conversation-based method with real scenarios, vocabulary, and grammar in context
Natural expressions and practical words & structures that can be really used in daily life
Chinese culture and trends, so you get to know a real China, not just the words
A shared document tracking what we cover in each lesson
Monthly review session to review what you've learned and move forward confidently
I work with adult learners at different stages, including:
Complete beginner
You know some Chinese but struggle to express yourself
You're at an intermediate level and want to speak more naturally
You need Chinese for work
You’re interested in Chinese culture and want to know more
There's no judgment in my class. You'll feel relaxed, supported, and comfortable speaking.
Learning Chinese doesn't have to be stressful. With the right guidance, it becomes a fun, rewarding experience.
