About Leo

Salut!

I'm Leo, a 23-year-old seasoned language tutor based in Liverpool, UK! I have experience tutoring a variety of subjects but mainly focus on languages in general (grammar, etymology, etc.) to enhance foreign language learning and understanding, I also specialise in French, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese tuition.

I have spent a lot of time in both France and Spain and speak both languages fluently, and having achieved A*s at GCSE and A-Level in both, I am well equipped to tutor you to reach those top grades!
I am currently a third-year translation and interpreting university student for French and Mandarin Chinese so, therefore, can tutor those wanting to challenge themselves with a complex language such as Chinese :)

About the lesson

My lessons are adapted to the learning outcome of the student, for example, a GCSE or A-Level student would require a more in-depth lesson on grammar to ensure full understanding, whereas a student who just wishes to learn a language for fun might prefer less grammar and more practical use of the language (i.e colloquial slang and modern culture!).

My approach to teaching has always been very hands-on as, from experience, this has helped my students receive the best results, so even the more in-depth grammar lessons will include activities ranging in difficulty to check progress as we go! In addition, all students will be given additional (and optional!) work to complete out of lesson time, any difficulties can be discussed in the next lesson but my contact number will also be given to students to ask any questions they may have outside of lesson time at no additional charge.

Finally, I have taken exams and tutored students for the following exam boards (all levels): WJEC, EDUQUAS, AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL and SQA. If your school's exam board is not listed, please confer with me prior to booking so I can prepare the necessary material to best match your specification!
