About Luisa
Hi! I’m Luisa — a bilingual English and German speaker, raised in Munich. I studied Latin for eight years in school and have a real passion for the language and its influence on modern languages. With five years of tutoring experience in Germany, I’ve worked with students of all ages and levels, helping them not only master grammar but also develop a real understanding for Latin. Whether you’re struggling with translations, grammar, or exam prep, I will tailor my lessons to your individual needs and learning style. Together, we’ll make Latin a little less daunting and a lot more fun — I can’t wait to meet you!

Lesson times are up to you, with a minimum of one hour per session. In Latin, grammar is absolutely essential — every letter counts! That’s why my lessons focus on building a strong foundation in grammar, combined with lots and lots of translation practice. Vocabulary is, of course, just as important, and I’ll help you develop the skill of making "educated guesses" based on the context of the text — a crucial ability, especially when dealing with verbs that have a wide range of meanings. For more advanced students, I’m more than happy to dive deeper into the content of the texts we’re translating, discussing their philosophical ideas. My goal is to make Latin fun — it’s a bit like solving a puzzle, and mastering it comes with so many cool advantages, like being able to read any church inscriptions you happen to stumble across! :) Plus, it gives you a huge head start when learning other Romance languages.
