About Muhammad

I’m Muhammad Hemasa, an experienced and passionate math tutor who has taught students aged 6 to 17 at Hafiz Al-Quran School (HQS) in Canberra. I also regularly teach my younger sisters at home, which has helped me develop even more patience and flexibility in my teaching approach. Whether it’s in a classroom or around the dinner table, I always aim to explain things in a way that makes sense and builds genuine understanding. I take pride in making math approachable, clear, and even enjoyable for students — regardless of their starting point. I tailor each lesson to the student’s pace, needs, and learning style. Whether they’re falling behind or wanting to get ahead, I make sure they feel supported and confident. I use simple explanations, step-by-step methods, and practical examples so the student can see how everything connects. I’m fluent in both English and Arabic, which allows me to connect with a diverse range of students and families. Being Muslim myself, I also understand and respect cultural and religious values that can be important when working with families. I’m patient, understanding, and always aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes — because that’s how real learning happens. About the lesson

In my lessons, I focus on helping students truly understand mathematics — not just memorize formulas. Whether it’s primary-level arithmetic, fractions and decimals, or high school topics like algebra, geometry, indices, or basic trigonometry, I break down each topic step-by-step using simple, real-life examples. I’ve taught a wide range of students from ages 6 to 17 at Hafiz Al-Quran School in Canberra, and I’ve seen how different learning styles require different approaches. Some students need things visualized, others need to hear it explained, and some just need a bit more patience — and I adapt to that. I also help students with homework, exam prep, revision techniques, and boosting their confidence in class. I always make sure students feel comfortable asking questions, no matter how small, and I create a calm environment where they can learn at their own pace. I aim to help them not only improve their grades but also understand why math matters and how it connects to the real world. Every lesson is tailored, supportive, and focused on progress — one step at a time.
