About Shaf

Hello! I'm Shaf, a final-year PhD student in Biochemistry at Queen Mary University of London. I'm fascinated by how small molecular changes in cells can influence health and disease — and I love sharing that curiosity with my students.

With over 3 years of experience in private tutoring, I’ve supported students at GCSE, A-Level, and undergraduate level in achieving excellent academic results. Many of my students have gone on to receive top grades, successfully secure university offers, and grow in confidence and independence along the way.

I also have university-level teaching experience and offer bespoke academic consulting, including:

About the lesson

Making Science and Maths engaging, accessible, and enjoyable is at the heart of my teaching approach. I understand that every student learns differently, so I personalise each lesson to suit individual learning styles — whether visual, auditory, or reading/writing-based — to help students build effective study habits that last.

I bring experience from teaching at university level, and I now focus on helping GCSE and A-Level students gain confidence, deepen their understanding, and achieve their academic targets. Many of my students have seen significant improvements in both their grades and mindset toward learning.

I hold a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, an MRes in Chronic Disease, and am currently in the final year of my PhD researching Molecular Biology at Queen Mary University of London.
