About Emily
I am currently a PhD student at Cardiff university. I research insect toxins and their potential anti-cancer activity. I have a background in biochemistry, cell biology and cancer, having completed a Biochemistry MSc at Cardiff University also. I have always been interested in teaching. Throughout my PhD I have worked as a demonstrator in undergraduate practical sessions and have some experience in marking undergraduate coursework. I additionally used to provide support in KS3 lessons whilst I was an A level student.

I am happy to work with students individually to discuss what approaches to learning work best and tailor lessons to suit this. I think it is important to really understand the principles of biology rather than just learning things off by heart and would work with students to find the best ways to understand relate to real world examples and applications.
