About Asha

I am a friendly and enthusiastic Biology tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students understand and enjoy Biology. I achieved an A in A Level Biology* and a First Class degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Birmingham, and I am currently undertaking a PhD in Cancer Biology at the University of Cambridge.

I have experience tutoring students at GCSE level and understand that every student learns differently. I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through challenging topics at their own pace. I am particularly focused on building confidence alongside academic ability, as I believe students perform best when they understand not just what they are learning, but why it works.

I can tutor Biology at any level up to A Level, whether you are looking to improve your grades, prepare for exams, strengthen your understanding of difficult topics or simply develop greater confidence in the subject. I am patient, approachable and committed to making each lesson useful, engaging and tailored to the individual student.

About the lesson

I take a supportive, personalised approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the student’s level, confidence and individual learning needs. I focus on making difficult Biology concepts clear and manageable by breaking them down into simple steps, using diagrams and examples, and then applying knowledge through targeted questions. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students understand exactly what questions are asking and how to structure clear answers that gain marks.

I am currently a Cancer Biology PhD student at the University of Cambridge. I achieved a first class degree in BSc Biomedical Science from the University of Birmingham as well as an A* in Biology at A level.

I also have experience tutoring GCSE Biology and supporting students across the full course, including targeted revision, exam-question practice and building confidence in areas they find challenging.

Lessons are typically 1 hour, although I can be flexible depending on the student’s age, concentration and requirements.

I am happy to tutor Biology students of any level up to A Level, adapting both the content and teaching approach to suit each student. Whether you are looking to build your foundations, improve your grades, prepare for exams or push yourself towards the top grades, I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to you.
