About Mackenzie
My interest in biology started with curiosity about the intricacies of living organisms and their interactions. I completed a B.Sc in Biology and an M.Sc in Molecular Biology, gaining expertise in genetics, physiology, ecology, and cellular processes. Over 10 years, I have guided learners of all ages to build both conceptual understanding and practical skills through interactive lessons, lab exercises, and real-world examples.
I emphasize patience, clarity, and adaptability in teaching. Many students struggle with abstract molecular or ecological concepts, so I use clear explanations, relatable examples, and engaging activities to foster comprehension and confidence. My approach ensures learners are supported while encouraged to think critically and independently.
Beyond teaching, I actively engage in research, laboratory experiments, and environmental studies, bringing real-world relevance into lessons. Beginners focus on foundational concepts like cell structure, photosynthesis, respiration, Mendelian inheritance, and simple ecological relationships. Intermediate learners explore molecular genetics, physiological systems, population ecology, and experimental design. Advanced learners engage with genomics, ecological modeling, research methods, and complex experimental analysis. Each session integrates guided exercises, problem-solving challenges, and discussion to ensure conceptual mastery and practical understanding.
Biology education also strengthens observation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning skills. Students gain confidence in conducting experiments, interpreting results, and linking biological principles to the real world.
