About Eli
I have years of experience in teaching diverse subject matters and difficulty levels. While I focus on biology, I excel in essay editing and have been a writing tutor for students in primary school through college. I see all subjects are interdisciplinary and utilize my unique skill set to simplify complex subject matters into digestible components. I have instructed a wide range of age groups and worked with toddlers, children, and adults. I am well-equipped in handling hyperactive and neurodivergent students. I am patient and creative. I consistently look to highlight the interests of my students and work their passions into my curriculum.

I take an individualized approach to tutoring that encourages my students to engage and drive the session through questioning. My primary goal is for my students to feel motivated to learn more about the subject and not be hesitant to ask for clarification. I apply my lessons to current popular science and provide context to difficult components of biology instead of focusing on bulk memorization. I focus on AP biology, and elementary, and high school biology, but also have experience teaching degree-seeking adults who need additional help or practice in specific subject matters. I majored in biological sciences and minored in chemistry, and I can provide guidance on complex biochemistry and genetics in addition to general biology.
