About Derren
Having worked as a mentor in school and teaching friends' younger siblings for G.C.S.E., I've found a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from it. I feel like I've been able to make a great connection to those I've helped and the teaching has paid off on both ends. I aspire to go into teaching in later life, and tutoring is a great gateway into this. I firmly believe tutoring is a very good way of teaching, as opposed to the classroom, tutees can feel a stronger connection with their tutor, and may feel more free to ask questions as it is a closed off environment without other students. I am passionate and charismatic, and wish to help and teach anyone who needs it.

I will teach G.C.S.E. level, and I am able to work over specific topics or general issues with subjects. Lessons will be tailor fit for each tutee based on what is required. Lessons can be however long is required for each student to feel more confident in the area, typically between 1-2 hours but this is flexible. I have both G.C.S.E.s and A-Levels in each subject and am currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of York.
