About Saskia
Tutoring experience:
I want to teach as I love helping people find passion in science and maths, and seeing their confidence grow. I have had experience in tutoring high school & A-level students in Maths, Chemistry and Biology. I have also coached all ages for swimming for many years, and have helped at my local forest school. I love to get to know students and help them reach their personal goals.
A bit more background about me:
At university, I achieved a First in Biochemistry at the University of Sheffield. I have spent the past half-year in Denmark at an international school, studying politics. I am very passionate about the environment and travelling. My other hobbies include art, swimming and climbing (bouldering). I would love to find out about your hobbies!
I look forward to getting to know you!

Hi!
I’m Saskia, and I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a First in Biochemistry in June 2021, and have been a tutor for many years (In-person and online through Mytutor).
I have a huge passion for science and maths, and I really enjoy sharing this passion with others! I am a strong advocate for relating topics to students’ interests. I like to get to know students, find out what they enjoy, and see if we can relate the subject to their interests and goals. I want lessons to be fun, and try to bring back some of that passion that can often be lost in school studies.
I am a visual learner, so I often like to break down complex concepts with diagrams and stories. I think this is far more memorable, and fun too! I also believe in practising answering questions to the mark scheme, to help you get the highest grades you can.
As for the lesson structure, I'm very flexible about the teaching style, and wish to modify everything so it benefits you! These sessions are about you, and helping you as best as possible! If there are topics you want to work on, or exam you need to cram for, or you just want to re-find your passion, then we can focus on that! And we can work with whatever length & frequency of lessons suits you. I know many people like to stop for a snack midway!
After tutoring with me, I hope you will feel more excited about the topics and more confident in your ability to get good grades.

Perfect! Such a great teacher, so patient and understanding
- Reema (Alia's daughter) is wonderful to teach! She is very friendly, very interested in the content and asks loads of questions. Sometimes she loses focus on the topic at hand, but this just stems from her enthusiastic curiosity, and is a great thing to have!Saskia's response :
