About Anna

I’m Anna, an English tutor from England with a Bachelor of Communication and TEFL certification. As a writer who loves words, writing, and learning, I’m passionate about meeting new people, travelling, and exploring cultures and history. I started teaching after a few friends told me I was great at helping them with English, and it turns out I love doing it! With experience as a part-time tutor and AMEP volunteer, I’m excited to help you build confidence and achieve fluency in English.

Hi, I’m Anna! I’m an English tutor from England, and I’m thrilled to help you on your journey to mastering the English language. I hold a Bachelor of Communication degree and a TEFL certification, with experience as a part-time tutor and volunteer for the AMEP. I’m passionate about languages and helping others build their confidence in English.

Learning a new language can be daunting, and I believe that half the battle is building your confidence. That’s why I don’t teach in an orthodox way. Forget about spending hours memorising the names of fruits or items of clothing! English can often have more exceptions than rules, and I find that the nuances are best learned through practice rather than standard classroom methods.

In our sessions, I tailor lessons specifically around your interests and passions. Whether you love literature, travel, music, sport, or any other topic, we’ll incorporate those elements into our lessons to make learning enjoyable and relevant. My goal is to get you confident in speaking English while we work on essential aspects like grammar and tenses along the way.

My lessons typically last between 1 to 1.5 hours, and I focus on creating a positive, engaging atmosphere. While I do use worksheets and assign homework to reinforce what we’ve learned, my primary focus is on making our time together enjoyable and effective. I want you to love reading, writing, and speaking English so much that fluency becomes second nature to you!
