About Portia
I am a female tutor and a mother to two children. For most of my adult working life I have been working in the pharmaceutical industry.
I strongly believe that knowledge is power and that is why I enjoy tutoring and teaching students of different age groups. I enjoy finding out how things work and why they work in that manner. I enjoy anything scientific and I know scientific subjects can feel overwhelming and hard to understand. This is the reason I enjoy breaking them down into smaller easier sections that make sense and showing how they connect with real life.
What keeps me interested is that no two students learn the same way, so I am constantly adapting my teachings and learning new ways to make students understand the work.
