About Chris Zi Yan
As an Asian tutor with a deeply global background, I bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to teaching Mandarin. I grew up in the multicultural environment of Malaysia for 18 years, spent 5 years living in the United States where I graduated from Stony Brook University, and have been living in China since 2023. Being a native speaker of both Mandarin and English, I perfectly understand the linguistic bridges and cultural nuances needed to help foreign learners succeed.
I believe that the absolute best way to master a language is through active, real-world connection. It is a true pleasure for me to teach by engaging in genuine communication with my students.
