About Farahnaz

Let’s explore the beauty of Persian together! I'm Farahnaz, a passionate Persian language tutor with over 5 years of experience helping students of all ages and backgrounds connect with the richness of Persian language and culture. Holding first-class BA and MA degrees in Persian Literature and Literary Theory from Allameh Tabataba'i University in Tehran, and further studies in Iranian Studies at SOAS University in London, I bring a deep academic foundation to my teaching.
My journey has included roles such as a volunteer lecturer in Persian Literature at Roshan University of Afghanistan, supporting women's education, and positions as a codicologist and translator at the University of Cambridge. I've also assessed Persian GCSE and A-level exams with MEHL Global and contributed as a literary editor at the Iran Heritage Foundation.
I believe in creating a warm, patient, and adaptable learning environment, tailoring lessons to each student's goals - whether you're starting from scratch or looking to deepen your existing knowledge.
Whether you're looking to converse with friends and family, communicate in professional settings, or explore Iran in person - contact me to begin your journey into the rich treasures of the Persian language!

About the lesson

In our lessons, you'll experience a blend of structured learning and cultural immersion. I customize each session to align with your individual objectives, whether you're preparing for exams, aiming to converse fluently, or exploring Persian literature and history.
My approach is interactive and student-centred, incorporating authentic materials like poetry, music, and historical texts to make the language come alive. I focus on building a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary while encouraging critical thinking and real-world application.
For child learners, I provide fun, memorable, and engaging activities that foster cultural enrichment and genuine passion for the language.
With my background in Persian literature and both classical & contemporary Persian studies, you will not only develop proficiency in the Persian language, but will also gain a deeper understanding of the culture and history of Iran and the wider Persian-speaking world.

Perfect! Farahnaz is an exceptional tutor with a wealth of experience and a student-centred approach to teaching. My sessions with her elevated my knowledge of Persian far beyond my expectations!

From the first session, Farahnaz took the time to identify my objectives and create a learning plan that would help me achieve them. She is great at identifying strengths and weaknesses, and tailoring each lesson accordingly. Her approach to teaching is full of calmness, kindness and patience, while also making sure you are challenged, making good progress, and fulfilling your potential.

Literature is the beating heart of Persian language and culture, and with Farahnaz's academic background, she brings incredible depth and insight to a range of topics. Interesting and enlightening conversations make learning the language so much more enjoyable! Highly recommended :)
